Nutrition Education

Nutrition education has set of learning experiences designed to ease the voluntary adoption nutrition-related eating behaviours favourable to health and well-being. Nutrition education include information on physical activity as well. Education on physical activities importance on health and the prevention of disease. Knowledge about the conditions that are caused by nutritional deficiencies is also significant.

 

Focus

1). Here we create positive attitudes toward good nutrition and physical activity and provide motivation for improved dietary habits and lifestyle practices.

2). Provide necessary knowledge and skills for critical thinking regarding diet and health so the individual can make healthy food choices.

3). Nutritional eduction camps in schools teach basics of nutrition, the nutrients contained within food groups, age-appropriate nutritional need, plan and prepare healthy meals, understanding towards nutritional deficiencies, reading a nutrition facts label, and more.

4). Our maternal and child nutrition awareness camps in Anganwadi's and primary health centre improving nutritional knowledge at community level. Here nutritional education has practical approach and should be easily adaptable to the socioeconomic status, food habits and the available local food resources.

 

Nutrition education has combination of the activities which provide visual and verbal information and instruction to participants or participants and caregivers in a group or individual setting. The presentations or activities will be lead by the dietitian.

Food and nutrition education consists of a variety of educational strategies that can be implemented at different levels, aimed at helping people to achieve long-lasting improvements in their diets and eating behaviours.The demonstrations is simple and easily adoptable by the people attending the course.
